Greetings from the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where our doors are open wide to everyone, and our hearts shut to no one seeking to find a church home for spiritual life, growth and fellowship.
Our prayer is that in attending our worship services you will feel a tender presence of God which will be marked with joyful worship, warm fellowship and relevant teachings from His Word-a combination that teaches the heart and lifts the soul.
Members here are people just like you - people that are filled with hopes and fears, joys and sorrows, strengths and weaknesses. The common thread being that we all are committed to growing stronger and wiser through it all. Together we are working to become like the church we believe Jesus wants us to be.
Mount Pleasant strives to provide an atmosphere of loving acceptance, where people can grow spiritually through vibrant worship, honest friendships, a caring fellowship, constant prayer and compassionate concern for the world.

Coming in from 78 West • After passing Georgia Square Mall on the left continue to travel approximately 2.2 miles• Turn Left on Hawthorne Avenue at the traffic light. The Hampton Inn is on the corner.• Travel on Hawthorne Avenue 2/10ths mile.• Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is on the right.
Coming in from 78 East • Upon entering east Athens The WalMart Super Center on the right.• Travel approximately 6.2 miles through downtown Athens to Hawthorne Avenue and turn right. The Hampton Inn is at this intersection.• Travel on Hawthorne Avenue 2/10ths mile.• Mr. Pleasant Baptist Church is on the right.
Coming in from 316 East • Upon crossing over the loop 10 bridge.• Highway 316 will become Epps Bridge Parkway travel approximately 2.2 miles on the Epps Bridge Parkway before it becomes HWY 78• Continue approximately 1.4 miles on HWY 78.• Turn Left on Hawthorne Avenue at the traffic light. The Hampton Inn is on the left.• Continue on Hawthorne Avenue• Mr. Pleasant Baptist Church is 2/10th of a mile on the right.
Coming in from HWY 441 South • Travel through Watkinsville and cross the Loop 10 bridge • Highway 441 will turn into Timothy Road. You will travel approximately 2.2 miles on Timothy Road and turn right onto Epps Bridge Parkway, drive approximately 2.2 more miles and the road merges right into HWY 78 east.• Continue approximately 1.4 miles on HWY 78 or Atlanta HWY.• Turn Left on Hawthorne Avenue at the traffic light. Hampton Inn is on the corner.• Mount Pleasant is 2/10ths mile on the right.
Coming in from HWY 441 North • Entering Athens, turn right before the bridge onto the entrance ramp of Loop 10 West.• Travel approximately 2 miles and exit Loop 10 at exit number 7.• Turn left on to Prince Avenue/Jefferson Road.• Turn right at the next traffic light on to Hawthorne Avenue.• Travel approximately 1.4 miles and turn left into Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
