United States Census 2020

The United States Census 2020 deadline is Wednesday, September 30th.  Athens-Clarke County urges residents who have not yet responded to the 2020 Census to do so by the new September 30th deadline.  For each Athenian who responds, the community stands to receive approximately $32,000 more in federal funding over the next 10 years to help support local schools, healthcare, public transportation, and critical infrastructure.  It takes less than 10 minutes to complete the Census online (www.my2020census.gov), by phone (844-330-2020), or by completing a paper survey mailed to select households.

Community Outreach Appeal

A 10th of American households say they haven't had enough food during the pandemic.  No one should go hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Millions of people are getting help from food banks for the first time.  Food banks can't do it alone and you can help!  Please consider joining Church Women United, along with our Mount Pleasant Women's Outreach Ministry, as we are hosting a local canned food drive for our community.  Our goal is to collect 500 cans!!!  We are asking each Mount Pleasant Ministry, as well as individual members, to consider donating cans to this outreach project.  Cans may be dropped off on Sunday morning (September 20th) between 9:00 a.m. and Noon.  Cans collected will be donated to the Food Bank on next week.  Thanks in advance for your support!
